Palmyra sprouts are grown in India's Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Sri Lanka's Jaffna. They are common in Vellore, Tiruvannamalai and Villupuram in Tamilnadu. The seeds are planted and the fleshy stems are picked from beneath the surface once they germinated. It can be eaten boiled or roasted. They're high in fibre and nutrients.
