Indian olive or Jalpai is a tropical fruit found in the Indian Subcontinent, Indo-China and South East Asia. They are sour fruits and do not produce oil like the variety found in the Mediterranean region. It is an ornamental medium-sized tree indigenous to Sri Lanka, producing smooth, ovoid green fruits.
